Your First Visit to Our Lansing Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

Welcome to the office! First, you will sign in, as you will on every visit.  Once seated, the assistant will get you started on filling out some personal information forms.  The first page asks for some basic information. (Want to get a head start? Just download the form, fill it out completely, and bring it in with you when you visit.) Next is the history form which you will fill out with pencil.  (It’s bubble format…just like taking a test!)  While you’re attending to the paperwork, the assistant will make a copy of your driver’s license and insurance card for our records.  Once you finish, you will be escorted to the exam room where you will be asked to change into the exam clothing provided.

Next, Dr. Denise Rassel will come in and discuss the reason for your visit and go over some of your history.  The exam will begin with postural and “range of motion” evaluations, to check for restrictions and postural changes resulting from previous spinal injury.  You will be asked to lie down on the exam table, whereby the doctor will inspect your spine for tender areas and intrinsic muscle spasm resulting from trauma or “healed in” spinal injury.  Lastly x-rays—if deemed necessary—will be taken.

Dr. D Asks some important questions of interest to Lansing residents - Chiropractor Lansing Dr. D Asks...

How come medical doctors don't recommend chiropractic?
That's changing. Years of prejudice and bias are giving way to research showing the benefits of chiropractic care. As more and more Lansing folks seek alternatives to drugs and surgery, more and more medical practitioners are referring their patients to chiropractors.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
While aches or pains may be unpleasant, they're merely warning signs. As a Lansing chiropractor, I see this all the time. The pain is not the problem! It just means a limitation has been reached and something needs to change. That's when we get to work correcting the underlying cause.
